IWBF welcome new members Namibia and Venezuela

During the last Executive Council meeting the IWBF Executive Council approved the ratification of two new National Organisations governing Wheelchair Basketball (NOWB’s) – Namibia and Venezuela.

Namibia Wheelchair Basketball Federation become the tenth member of the IWBF Africa Zone.

The Federación Venezolana de Deportes en Silla de Ruedas (Venezuela Federation of Wheelchair Sports), who were previously an active member in the IWBF Americas Zone, reapplied to become a new member following their lapse of membership since the IWBF moved it’s company house to Switzerland.

IWBF President, Ulf Mehrens, said:

“We would like to welcome Namibia and welcome back Venezuela to the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation family. We look forward to ongoing development and growth of the sport in both countries.”

The application of Ethiopia is still pending.
