Stevenston, Scotland to host World Wheelchair Curling Championships 2025
Stevenston, Scotland – World Curling and Scottish Curling are pleased to announce that the Auchenharvie Leisure Centre in the Scottish town of Stevenston will host the 2025 editions of World Wheelchair Curling Championship and World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championship.
The North Ayrshire town of Stevenston, sits on the west coast of Scotland, 30 miles from Glasgow. These wheelchair championships mark the first time this town has hosted an international curling event.
The World Wheelchair Curling Championship will run from 1–8 March 2025 and will be followed by the World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championship from 11–16 March 2025.
The athletes will be accommodated in at the fully wheelchair accessible sportscotland National Sports Training Centre Inverclyde, in the seaside town of Largs.
World Curling Head of Competitions, Eeva Roethlisberger said, “We are delighted to be bringing our wheelchair events to Scotland.
“These are vitally important events for our wheelchair athletes. This season marks the final opportunity to earn Paralympic Qualification Points for Milano Cortina 2026 and will confirm the Paralympic lineup. I’m sure the local organisers will do a wonderful job of hosting these championships and ensure our wheelchair athletes have an excellent experience.”
