World ParaVolley Board announces a bold re-structure plan in the USA towards LA2028 and beyond
World ParaVolley, the international federation of para sport disciplines sitting volleyball and beach paravolley, announced today a bold new decision in its long-term strategic planning to strengthen its marketing and management opportunities for the future. The World ParaVolley Board took action to formally establish the organisation as a not-for-profit entity in the USA. This creates a strong partnership with its existing World ParaVolley Foundation, a 501(c)3 not for profit corporation and the fundraising entity for the organisation’s global development planning.
The decision taken by the World ParaVolley Board places the organisation and its four Zonal associations in the best possible position to achieve maximum engagement globally in its development strategy. ParaVolley Africa, ParaVolley Asia and Oceania, ParaVolley Europe and ParaVolley Pan America are the four zones that stand to benefit from this bold move as fundraising is prioritised to support activities in those areas equally. The ability of World ParaVolley to achieve this status of U.S.-based incorporation is a game-changer by bringing the organisation into the heart of global business, marketing, and management opportunities looking ahead to the LA28 Paralympics, expected to be one of the most important Games in the Paralympic movement.
The World ParaVolley President, Barry Couzner OAM, said:
“The matter of our brand, location and structure has been considered by the Board for some considerable time and I have no doubt that this bold decision will set us up for the future that will be of great benefit to the organisation. It will assist us in fundraising that will enable us to provide upgraded development activities and competitions that will directly benefit our athletes. This is the beginning of a new era for the International Federation”.
