IBU Para Biathlon Development Forum to take place in Lenzerheide/SUI
The IBU Para Biathlon Development Forum 2024 will take place from 7 to 9 June at Lenzerheide, Switzerland, the host site for the IBU Biathlon World Championships 2024 and a growing centre for biathlon development activities.
Following the transfer of governance for Para Biathlon from the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to the IBU in July 2022, the IBU became a full member of the IPC in September 2023.
While the IBU is still in the early phases of fully integrating Para Biathlon into the federation, the work has started to provide Para Biathletes with the conditions under which they can develop to their fullest, and to secure them the stage on which they can deliver their best performances in front of global audiences.
The IBU Para Biathlon Development Forum from 7-9 June 2024 aims to discuss the strategies and exchange ideas for creating an environment that supports the future growth of Para Biathlon worldwide.
It aims to explore practical approaches and search for creative solutions to current challenges, so that we all work together toward the first-ever Paralympic Winter Games under the IBU’s governance at Milano Cortina 2026 and beyond.
